About Nature's Pantry Learn about Nature's Pantry

Nature's Pantry was born from the vision of Brian, a California-based father of four — and it's more than a brand. In a world where figuring out what's truly healthy can feel like navigating a maze, Brian saw the need for accessible, nutrient-rich options inside everyday staples like salt.

Salt is a fundamental part of the human diet, yet its raw, mineral-rich form is easy to overlook. Brian noticed that gap in the market, and Nature's Pantry emerged to fill it — giving families a simple choice that can make a real difference to their health and vitality. We're a family-owned company built on a passion for healthier living.

French Grey Sea Salt is an unrefined salt hand-harvested in the Guérande region of Brittany, France, using traditional techniques refined there over nearly 2,000 years. In France it's known as sel gris — grey salt. We call ours French Grey Sea Salt for the trace of French green clay that gives the crystals their natural grey color. The salt marshes also yield a darker grey salt better suited to bath and agricultural use; the lighter grey is the grade prized for the table and cooking.

Our French Grey Sea Salt is sourced directly from Brittany, France for the best quality and a smooth, savory flavor — making it ideal for table use, cooking, and baking.

Coarse Ground is meticulously hand-harvested, entirely unrefined, and untouched by processing. It's non-GMO verified, Kosher certified, lower in sodium, and paleo-friendly. Dried by sun and wind, it retains the ocean's moisture and a broad spectrum of trace elements.

Fine Ground is made from the coarse salt through low-temperature drying and fine grinding. With a subtler flavor, it's the ideal all-purpose shaker salt for the table, cooking, and baking.

Yes. Salt is composed of minerals, so it contains no organisms to modify — it's inherently 100% GMO-free. Our French Grey Sea Salt is harvested in its natural form, the way nature intended.

No iodine is added to our salts. Iodine is a necessary nutrient, but Nature's Pantry does not supply it — so if you rely on iodized salt as your iodine source, keep that in mind.

Our French Grey Sea Salt is non-GMO verified, Kosher certified, naturally gluten-free, and free from additives or anti-caking agents. HydroCelt is likewise free from artificial ingredients.

Absolutely. Nature's Pantry was built on one principle — no shortcuts. French Grey Sea Salt is unprocessed and hand-harvested. HydroCelt uses only natural flavors, with no artificial colors, no preservatives, and no anti-caking agents. What's on the label is exactly what's in the product, and every product is something our family uses ourselves.

Yes — 100% all-natural. HydroCelt contains zero sugar, zero artificial colors, zero synthetic flavors, and zero fillers. The formula is built on French Grey Sea Salt (our sodium source), Magnesium Glycinate, and Potassium Citrate — three ingredients chosen for their bioavailability and purity. Natural fruit flavors give it its taste. That's it.

Using & Storing Your Salt

Certainly. French Grey Sea Salt substitutes for regular salt at a 1:1 ratio in all your favorite recipes — no adjustments needed. Remember you can always add more salt but can't take it away, so start small and adjust to taste. For baking, use Fine Ground, since it disperses and mixes more evenly for consistent flavor.

French Grey Sea Salt keeps best when you protect it from moisture and heat:

  • Keep it dry — store away from humidity, not near the stove or sink.
  • Use an airtight container — glass or ceramic is ideal to keep moisture out and freshness in.
  • Avoid direct sunlight — a dark or opaque container away from intense heat protects quality and flavor.
  • Keep the temperature steady — a cool, stable pantry or cupboard beats spots prone to temperature swings.

Our Coarse Light Grey French Sea Salt naturally retains some moisture — the brine, or “mother liquor,” of the salt — because we don't alter it after harvest. That moisture is a sign it's truly unrefined.

No. Salt is nature's original preservative — it has been used to preserve food throughout history and doesn't expire. It's still essential today for culturing vegetables and koshering meats.

Minerals & The Science See the science behind HydroCelt

We believe unrefined sea salt offers unique benefits thanks to its full spectrum of trace elements. We're not health professionals and can't make specific claims, but French Grey Sea Salt has long been valued by experienced cooks and culinary experts.

Minerals are essential to nearly every biological function — nerve signaling, muscle contraction, hydration, energy production, and sleep. Modern diets, filtered water, and daily sweat strip your body of the minerals it needs. Over 75% of Americans don't meet their daily magnesium requirement alone. Table salt is stripped of all minerals except sodium chloride, and processed food rarely makes up the gap. Real mineral-rich salt and electrolyte supplementation are among the simplest changes you can make.

Hydration isn't just about drinking water — it's about your body's ability to absorb and retain it, a process driven by electrolytes like sodium, potassium, and magnesium. French Grey Sea Salt provides naturally occurring sodium alongside complementary minerals that help your cells actually use the water you drink. That's also why HydroCelt is formulated with French Grey Sea Salt as its sodium base.

Not all magnesium is created equal. Most supplements use magnesium oxide — cheap, but with a bioavailability of only around 4%. Magnesium Glycinate binds magnesium to the amino acid glycine, which dramatically improves absorption and is gentle on digestion. It's one of the most bioavailable forms available, chosen specifically so you actually feel the difference.

The form of potassium matters enormously. Potassium Chloride, the most common form, has poor absorption and a harsh, bitter taste. Potassium Citrate is far more bioavailable, easier on the stomach, and combined with our French Grey Sea Salt base, delivers potassium in a form your body can actually use — and that tastes clean.

Each serving delivers 600mg sodium, 250mg potassium, and 90mg magnesium — the core electrolytes your body runs on — sourced from French Grey Sea Salt, Potassium Citrate, and Magnesium Glycinate for maximum bioavailability.
